The Missouri Sovereignty Project: Our Mission

Our mission at the Missouri Sovereignty Project is rooted in a clear, unwavering vision: Missouri is not a mere province subordinate to a distant central authority, but a sovereign entity, functioning much like an independent nation within a voluntary American union. The very essence of our Republic was designed as a decentralized alliance of free states. To restore and protect this foundational vision, we rely on the ultimate bulwark of our state autonomy: the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

The 10th Amendment is not a mere historical suggestion; it is the fundamental constitutional guarantee of our state's sovereignty. It explicitly dictates that all powers not formally delegated to the federal government remain firmly in the hands of the States and the people. In this light, Missouri possesses the inherent right to exercise its authority with the same dignity, self-determination, and independence as a sovereign country operating within a broader confederation. Our project aims to institutionalize this vital principle, weaving it deeply into the populist and political fabrics of our state so that it becomes the guiding compass for all legislative action.
